How Oklahoma paychecks are calculated
Oklahoma withholding under HB 2764 uses four graduated rates — 0%, 2.5%, 3.5%, and 4.5% at the top — on net wages after OK-W-4 allowance subtraction. That is not a flat 4.5% on gross pay. Employers start with annualized wages, subtract pre-tax 401(k), HSA, and §125 health premiums to reach federal AGI, then subtract $1,000 for each OK-W-4 allowance before the OW-2 percentage tables run.
Federal income tax and FICA still dominate the mental model for most workers, but Oklahoma's line is meaningful on its own. On $75,000 as a single filer with zero allowances, Oklahoma withholding wages are $75,000 and state tax is $2,875 — about $111 per bi-weekly check on the state line alone.
Oklahoma has no county or city earned-income tax on ordinary W-2 wages. Once you account for federal, FICA, and the state line, you have the full picture for a typical private-sector paycheck. Every figure updates live in your browser.
Oklahoma income tax and Form OK-W-4
Form OK-W-4 is what your employer uses to set Oklahoma withholding. Filing status picks which annual percentage table applies — married filing jointly gets wider 0% and lower-rate bands, which is why the same $75,000 salary produces $2,374 Oklahoma tax for a married couple versus $2,875 for a single filer here.
Each allowance in the calculator removes $1,000 from Oklahoma withholding wages. One allowance on $75,000 drops state tax from $2,875 to $2,830. Head of household and married filing separately use the same percentage thresholds as single filers in the OW-2 tables.
| Filing status | OK withholding wages | OK tax | Take-home |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single | $75,000 | $2,875 | $58,718 |
| Married filing jointly | $75,000 | $2,374 | $62,249 |

Hourly wages and Oklahoma take-home pay
Hourly workers annualize first: rate × 40 hours × 52 weeks. At $25 an hour that is $52,000 gross — about $810 per weekly check with $1,840 Oklahoma tax and $4,060 federal. Overtime and bonuses add to the same annual wage base when you enter them above.
| Hourly rate | Annual gross (40 hr/wk) | OK tax | Take-home |

Bi-weekly and monthly pay in Oklahoma
Pay frequency changes the per-check amount, not the annual tax math. Oklahoma withholding annualizes wages, computes tax once, then your employer divides net pay across paychecks. A $75,000 salary with zero allowances lands at about $2,258 per bi-weekly check versus $4,893 per monthly check — same annual take-home, different slice size.
| Pay frequency | Paychecks / yr | Gross | OK tax | Net |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Weekly | 52 | $1,442 | $55 | $1,129 |
| Bi-Weekly | 26 | $2,885 | $111 | $2,258 |
| Semi-Monthly | 24 | $3,125 | $120 | $2,447 |
| Monthly | 12 | $6,250 | $240 | $4,893 |

This calculator models 2026 federal rules and Oklahoma Tax Commission OW-2 withholding (2.5%–4.5% graduated tables after $1,000 per OK-W-4 allowance). Additional dollar withholding on Form OK-W-4, return-side standard deduction credits, and tribal exemption certificates are not fully modelled.
